House of Demo sells demo units, ex-display stock, box-damaged goods and factory seconds. Every item is sold in a described condition, and its price reflects that condition. This policy explains what happens if something is not as described.
We tell you the condition of an item before you pay, including any damage or defect we are aware of. You are welcome to inspect any unit in store before buying it, and we would encourage you to.
If an item turns out to have a fault that was not pointed out to you at the time of sale, bring it back to the branch you bought it from within [TO CONFIRM: 7] days, with your receipt. We will repair it, replace it, or refund you.
[TO CONFIRM: the exact length of this window. 7 days is written above as a placeholder only]
Damage, marks or defects that were disclosed to you and reflected in the price you paid are not grounds for a return.
Our stock consists of individual units rather than lines we can reorder, so we do not offer refunds or exchanges simply because you have changed your mind.
[TO CONFIRM: whether any manufacturer warranty applies to demo, ex-display or seconds units, and for how long. This is the single most common question customers ask about this kind of stock, and the page is weak without an answer]
Nothing in this policy takes away the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
[TO CONFIRM: this section in particular must be checked by a South African attorney before launch. The CPA gives consumers a six-month right to return unsafe or defective goods. It also treats goods sold with clearly disclosed defects differently — but the precise wording matters and should not be guessed at]
